If you are looking for genuine Lotus parts, you no longer have to wait for information regarding pricing and availability as we can provide this by telephone or fax. However, if a part is not in stock, then it can usually be obtained fairly quickly as we usually air-freight all our parts from the UK.

Conditions of Sale
1. Property of the goods is retained by THE ELAN FACTORY and shall not pass to the purchaser until payment is made for the goods and for all other goods supplied by THE ELAN FACTORY to the purchaser
2. The purchaser shall not sell, dispose of, utilise or otherwise deal with the goods or any part thereof until full payment for the goods has been made to and received by THE ELAN FACTORY, other than in the ordinary course of the purchaser's business.
3. THE ELAN FACTORY (without prejudice to any of its other rights), without previous notice to the purchaser can retake the goods and resume possession of the goods which remain the property of THE ELAN FACTORY and by its servants and agents may enter the purchaser's premises or any other place where the goods may be upon the occurrence of any one or more of the following events:-
(i) (Where the purchaser is a corporation) the purchaser commences to be wound up or is placed under official management, or a receiver or receiver and manager is appointed or an encumberance takes pocession of its undertaking or property.
(ii) (Where the purchaser is a natural person) the purchaser becomes insolvent or bankrupt or commits an act of bankruptcy or makes an assignment for the benefit of of a creditor.
(iii) The purchaser fails to pay the whole or any part of the purchase price or any other charges for the goods supplied hereunder or for any other equipment or services supplied to the purchaser by THE ELAN FACTORY when due.
(iv) Any other terms or conditions of the contract between THE ELAN FACTORY and the purchaser are breached by the purchaser.
4. The purchaser shall make good any damage to any premises occasioned by the removal of any goods and shall, and herby indemnify THE ELAN FACTORY in respect of any proceedings brought against THE ELAN FACTORY arising from the removal of the goods from such premises.
Terms
1. Payment, net 10 days or unless otherwise stated on invoice.
2. LATE PAYMENTS will incur a finance fee. The interest will be calculated daily at a rate of (10.0% per annum) and then added to the outstanding amount until such time full payment is made.
3. All claims for credit must be made within 7 days after receipt of goods.
4. All goods must be authorised prior to return.
5. Goods supplied that are non-standard items will not be credited without cancellation charge.
6. A handling charge of 10% applies for all goods authorised for return excluding errors by THE ELAN FACTORY.
7. All charges for returned goods are at the client's expense.
8. New components supplied by THE ELAN FACTORY are guaranteed against faulty material and workmanship and part or parts failing due to the above causes will be replaced by us, conditional on individual manufacturers guarentee free of charge ex our wharehose. This guarantee specifically excludes labour of dismantling, re-assembly installation and removal, consequential damage or any other cost.
9. Any goods that have been tampered with, modified in any way or used for other than purposes that the original manufacturer intended will be exempt from this guarantee.
10. Remanufactured components supplied by THE ELAN FACTORY are guaranteed against faulty workmanship and will be replaced or rebuilt by us conditional to inspection/testing. Modified or remanufactured crankshafts cannot be supplied with a service/performance guarantee as we have no control over how the component was used in its previous installation.
11. Reconditioned cylinder heads carry a 3 month limited warranty that is applicable only to the parts and labour supplied by THE ELAN FACTORY. This warranty does not cover worn original components, damage caused by pre-existing faults or subsequent assembly work that is not carried out to the original manufacturers specifications.
12. Any goods that have been used for race purposes are specifically exempted from this guarantee.

We welcome and encourage all our customers to visit The Elan Factory. Please telephone prior to your visit to make an appointment so as to avoid being disappointed. We are usually very busy and need some notice to organise quality time to spend with you.
Products
We have a policy of only supplying the best quality parts to our customers and that includes oil and air filters. We could supply locally available products but we prefer to supply filters manufactured to contemporary standards (ISO9002) utilising the latest state-of-the-art technology. We do not import these parts because it is easy. Our objective is to supply a product that fits correctly and provides the assurance plus reliability that is necessary in a performance engine. It is worth noting that this UK manufacturer/supplier has contracts with the aircraft industry and supplies filters for the Concorde.
Design
One of the services offered is the design and manufacture of performance components. It is no longer acceptable to fit aluminium-bronze or cast iron valve guides to any engine as there are better materials available. We have designed and offer Copper-Nickel-Silicon high performance valve guides for all Lotus engines. This same material is currently used by Lotus and Cosworth. By selecting this alloy, it allows valves to run up to 200ºC cooler than using the cast iron normally used for valve guides. This particular alloy has superior conductivity and a very low coefficient of friction. It is also a very hard material (unlike phosphor-bronze or aluminium bronze) and requires special machining to obtain a good surface finish.

Track Record
The origins of the Elan Factory may be traced back to a successful business in the UK call Highway Developments formed in 1978. High way Developments first designed and manufactured solid-state ignition units for the automotive after-market place. Later it specialised in the design and supply of stainless steel components, servicing items and accessories to the Lotus car after-market place. To date, The Elan Factory has undertaken many designs and manufacturing projects. Eg.
