The following information is an extract from the Repco Australia Trade Zone magazine (01/02/08 - 29/02/2008). Spotted inside the front cover was the following information:- Air Conditioning Gas R134a The most common refrigerant for automotive air conditioning is HFC R134a. This well established product is globally accepted and non flammable. Our refrigerant supplier A-Gas, imports this product from overseas manufacturers in bulk before storing and decanting into cylinders on-site at Laverton in Melbourne. 0134012 R134a, 12kg cylinder @ AUS$199-00 excluding GST 0134022 R134a, 22Kg cylinder @ AUS$365-00 excluding GST UV134a UV134a is R134a pre-mixed with UV dye which is added to facilitate leak detection. This product is blended at A-Gas facilities. U134012 UV134a, 12kg cylinder @ AUS$225-00 excluding GST U134022 UV134a, 22kg cylinder @ AUS$410-00 excluding GST SP-34E Now there's no excuse for slow pull down times, or excessive wear and tear on auto air-conditioning systems, due to poorly performing refrigerant SOLPOWER SP-34E will out perform standard R134a, in both power efficiency and pull down time. SOLPOWER SP-34E is a near-azeotrope HFC, with next to zero glide. It's compatible with all types of oils and its non-flammable. This is where it gets interesting for Lotus owners whose vehicles were originally had air-conditioning systems filled with R12 gas. SOLPOWER SP-34E outperforms standard R134a in contemporary vehicles and, when retro-fitting R12 systems, you only need to replace the dryer. It's that simple! One refrigerant to fill all your R134a and R12 requirements! The Geelong Speed Trials on the 25th of November to include a display of Lotus & Caterham 7's for the 50th Birthday Year. Hi My Name is Gavin Kronberg, I am the owner of a Caterham 7 here in Melbourne. With the help of my good friend James Killingsworth, we are trying to get as many Lotus and Caterham 7's together for the 25th of November Speed Trial display in Geelong. Can you pass this info onto the Lotus Club members who own either model so we can get as many as possible to attend. We are hoping for "real" cars, but are happy to get good copies to attend, like PRB and Frazer if available. It would be good to rally together as many as we can. I have my Caterham and James has a Lotus 7 plus a Caterham. We have asked Chris Van Wyk to display the latest Caterham model he is importing and selling. Plus we have 2 or 3 more cars we know of who have given a "will try" to get there. Hoping you can help draw a few more out of there sheds for public viewing. Our Understanding is the car displays will kick off around 10.00am so it is best to arrive earlier then that. Plus I believe they are looking for a $10 donation to display the car.
